We had our dream wedding in Mykonos last October and we have Aggelika’s hard work, organization, and vision to thank for how incredible it turned out. The idea of planning a destination wedding remotely from our home in California was scary, especially given neither of us is Greek or had ever visited Greece before. But we couldn’t have been in better hands than with Aggelika and her passionate team at Mykonos Weddings!
From our very first meeting over Zoom, we knew that Aggelika was going to be our choice for our wedding planner. During that call, she walked us through a PowerPoint presentation outlining the entire planning process. This included recommendations for villas, resorts, venues, and once in Mykonos, bars, restaurants and tourist sites around the island for our guests to experience. It was clear from that initial meeting that Aggelika was very knowledgeable and highly organized. But on top of that, she also seemed like a very nice person who would be easy to work with. After wowing us in all these ways, it was clear that she stood out among other wedding planners we’d spoken to.
During the nine months of planning, Aggelika created a timeline for what we would focus on each month, meeting with her every few weeks to go over our progress. Our budget wasn’t extravagant, but Aggelika consistently worked with us and gave us advice on how to stretch our budget as far as possible while staying true to our vision. Her cost spreadsheets kept us on track so we could see exactly how each decision would affect the bottom line.
At the wedding and the days leading up to it, Aggelika paid close attention to everything from the villa services to the decorations to the catering. Any issues that came up she handled immediately so we never felt like there were any surprises we couldn’t handle. On the day of the wedding, we were blown away by how everything seemed to effortlessly come together. Even though we’d picked out everything ourselves months earlier, seeing it all there at the villa with the sea and neighboring islands in the backdrop was breathtaking. Our guests were amazed at how picture-perfect every little detail looked and the care in which everything was placed. Since the wedding, several of our guests have told us, “I still can’t believe how everything looked like a postcard. I was there and it still doesn’t seem real.”
In addition to the wedding, Aggelika helped us plan a full-day excursion to explore some of the smaller islands off the coast of Mykonos aboard our own private catamaran. This was one of the biggest highlights of our trip for us and our guests! We cruised from Mykonos to the neighboring island of Delos, where we explored ancient ruins and artifacts before heading over to the secluded island of Rheneia, where we swam, snorkeled, and paddle boarded in the crystal-clear waters of a private cove. This was topped off with an amazing lunch cooked onboard by the staff with a full menu of local specialties and Greek wine.
Everything was better than we’d imagined it, and we definitely owe it to Aggelika and Mykonos Weddings for their expert planning. Aggelika is a true professional and her passion for what she does showed in making our dream wedding a reality. We are truly thankful for Aggelika and her amazing Mykonos Weddings staff. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough!!
